AT 6800 METERS

Yesterday morning, thursday 17th, Marta, Javier, and Carlos left the base camp with everything needed to spend three nights up in the mountain. They arrived at Camp I very tired, due to the deep snow. They spent the night there and the following morning they headed towards camp II. Weather was not good. It was really cold, wind was very strong and visibility very poor. They decided to set camp II around 400 meters higher than where it is usually set, because they found it more secure (camp II is known as very dangerous due to high risk of avalanches). They went up to 6800 meters and started settling the camp, under a big serac. But due to the strong wind they decided to leave the material there and go down to camp I and sleep there. Tomorrow, saturday, they will go up to camp II again to sleep there, if weather conditions allow them to do so. They plan to return to base camp on Sunday.
